The Power of Conscious Communication

May 27, 2016 @ 9:30 am - 5:00 pm

TGIF 6 (2) Are you aware of the quality of non-verbal messaging that you are sending to others? Are you tuned into the power of your “affect contagion” – the transmission of your emotions at sub-conscious levels – and your contribution to your team’s emotional equilibrium?

Our words convey the least amount of information in the act of communicating. 80 to 90% of messaging happens through non-verbal communication – most of it also unconscious. Lack of awareness of this UNconscious communication often leads to misunderstandings, missed opportunities, and breakdowns in relationships.

What is your UNconscious communication costing you?

Come out to this one-day retreat and work with the experts at non-verbal communication – horses! Focus on making conscious all levels of information that you exchange with others: non-verbal body language, affect, and intention. Equine-facilitated work is a powerful tool that helps individuals and teams overcome the challenges of clear communication to achieve greater effectiveness, enhance trust, and reduce misunderstandings.

At this one-day Retreat you will:

  • Explore and experience conscious communication
  • Achieve insight and awareness into the elements of your nonverbal communication
  • Understand how you send mixed messages
  • Gain direct and honest feedback about your communication style
  • Practice mindfulness of your body language and other nonverbal messaging
  • Gain knowledge and tools that are immediately applicable to your life

We will engage with horses in simple ground exercises in a safe and secure environment. Expect to have deeply personal and insightful interactions. The experiential nature of the work and small group atmosphere enable you to fully embody and sustain the learning well beyond the retreat. Previous experience with horses is not required.
Enrolment is limited to a maximum of 8 participants so book early! Catered lunch and refreshments are included. Please wear comfortable layered clothing suitable for the outdoors as we will spend part of the day outside in the Round Pen with the horses. Boots or sturdy footwear is required.

There is a non-refundable deposit of $150.
ICF Coaches are eligible to receive 6 Core and 3 resource CCEUs for an additional fee of $30.*

Bring a friend and get a special rate. Early Bird ends May 13, 2016 at 8:30 PM.
